Triplicate

With a compact traditional sound and fresh modern ideas this trio presents itself as a natural combination of contradictions. Triplicate is both like minded and independent, subtle and solid, without drums and with groove. Trumpet virtuoso Claudio Roditi said of Triplicate: “A young group dedicated to the roots of jazz music while constantly looking to the future.”

Their debut CD ‘Three and One’ (buy it at CDbaby or send me an email) is a very pleasant surprise from three young musicians with the help of an “old hand”. Trumpeter Ellister van der Molen, pianist Bob Wijnen and bassist Johnny Daly have been performing regularly as the drummerless Triplicate trio for some time and have now sought the support of master drummer, conservatory teacher and motivator Eric Ineke as collaborator.

‘Three and One’ is intended as a rich homage to the ongoing story of what jazz music was and still can be, fueled by improvisations that vary from delicate to adventurous. A heartwarming document that perfectly brings the motives of this group to life, love and lust, romance and rhythm.
